Analysts Expect the Mobile App Market to Double by 2014
A recent report from research firm IHS Screen Digest forecasts a 77.7% jump to nearly $4 billion this year from last years worldwide mobile app revenues. The report indicates that three years down the line, this figure could double to $8.3 billion. CEO Patrick Brown of On the Move Systems attributes this expansion of the mobile app market to wireless network advancements, falling mobile data usage costs and a continuous refinement of application usability. On the Move Systems (OMVS) is capitalizing on the mobile app revolution and is working with software firm Spud McCool Media Inc. (Spud Media) towards developing fun, cutting-edge mobile applications that will be designed to make full use of tablet and smartphone features. OMVS announced last week that it has started development on an innovative new online dating app.
